Looking at the high pollution level in Ludhiana,Deputy Commissioner Rajat Aggarwal on Tuesday reviewed the measures being taken to control pollution in the city. He emphasized the need to take time-bound measures to improve the environment of the city. He directed the Municipal Corporation authorities to take steps for development of engineered municipal solid waste management facility along with management of municipal solid waste as immediate measures. He also told the Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board to complete the laying of sewerage pipes in the city areas at a faster pace. He also asked the department to complete upgradation of sewerage treatment plants.
