Cong takes out protest march

Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee members today took out a protest march from the Congress Bhawan till GT road. The members stated that although the Health Department had taken samples of khoya and sweets in the last few days to test quality,the latest statement of Health Minister Laxmi Kanta Cawla to return the stocks had raised the dust.

Director of Food Processing Department,Amarjit Singh Tikka,Gurdev Singh Lapran,District Congress Committee (Rural) president and few others stated that it was an eyewash by the health minister in which the big fish was spared and challans were issued only to small sweet sellers.

Tikka said,“If the names of famous halwais will not be revealed within one week,we will be staging dharnas all over the state and will also burn effigy of the Health Minister as well.”
