City boy ranks 16 in state AIEEE

Mansimran Singh,an alumnus of Baba Isher Singh Public School,excelled in the All-India Engineering Entrance Examination by getting 649th rank.

Mansimran Singh,an alumnus of Baba Isher Singh Public School,excelled in the All-India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) by getting 649th rank. His state level rank is 16.

Although his rank in AIEEE is better than his IIT rank of 2,374,yet Mansimran wants to pursue his dreams through one of the IITs.

“I would like to join mechanical engineering but in case I do not get admission then civil engineering is my second option.”

Mansimran,who passed his Class XII from the Punjab School Education Board in March 2008 with more than 70 per cent marks,said,“I went to Kota in Rajasthan to get better coaching. I used to study for 6 to 7 hours every day.”

Unlike other students,physics is his passion. An ardent fan of Albert Einstein,Mansimran said,”I want to do some invention in physics,so that people remember my contribution to science. Whenever I get time,I read books related to scientific fantasies.”
