With labour-crunch and employee attitude raising concerns among industry bigwigs,the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) started a series of seminars,beginning last week,to ameliorate the situation. Companies like Majestic Auto Limited,Kangaro Industries Limited,Shingora Textiles Limited,Superfine Knitters Ltd and New Swan Auto Comp Pvt Ltd from Ludhiana have been so far been covered in the seminars.
Inderjit Nagpal,chairman,CII Ludhiana Zonal Council,said: We are facing an average 30-40 per cent labour shortage in each factory and hence we cannot turn more employees out. We,therefore,have to tolerate their attitude at times.
S B Singh,CEO,Taaran Industries Ltd and R K Chopra from Ahmadabad,Gujarat,were the main speakers for these workshops. They addressed various issues relating to attitude towards work and inter-personal relationships among workers.
Singh said that employees should observe punctuality and sincerity towards his/her duties and should believe in giving 100 per cent to their responsibilities.
Chopra shared his experiences on the importance of inter-personal relationships and self-improvement.
