Child kidnapped from Ludhiana recovered in Delhi

The Ludhiana police have been successful in recovering a two-and-a-half-year old child kidnapped by his father’s colleague.

At a press meeting,Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Sushil Kumar said,“Two-and-a-half year old Manjal was kidnapped from Focal Point area on March 20. His father,Madan Raj,received a ransom call a couple of days later and tracing this call we nabbed the culprit and recovered the baby,awho is safe and with his family now.”

Kumar said,“The boy was kidnapped by Mustaq,who used to work in the same factory with Madan Raj and used to visit their home regularly. Mustaq wanted to marry Madan Raj’s 13-year-old daughter and when the latter refused,Mustaq kidnapped Manjal.”

“Mustaq took the child to Delhi and stayed at Paharganj from where he made the call. He asked Madanraj to hand over his daughter if wanted his son alive. Madanraj had already informed the police and we laid a trap. We asked Raj to agree to Mustaq’s demands and fix a place of exchange. This was platform number 9 of the Delhi railway station. The police nabbed Mustaq there and later arrested Abdul Sattar with whom Mustaq had been staying,” added Kumar.
