Burglars stuck at the home of a 75-year-old NRI,Gurjar Singh on Friday night and escaped with cash and jewelry. The police and the owner of the house Gurjar Singh remain tightlipped about the worth of the loot but the involvement of two DSPs,area SHO,a dog squad and finger print experts indicates that the theft was worth a considerable amount. As per the FIR lodged by the police,the thieves took away three gold rings,one gold kara and undisclosed amount of cash. The police did now allow Gurjar Singh to talk to the media. Gurjar Singh,a resident of village Gagre is currently living alone in this house which is located on the outskirts of the village. Gurjar Singh's two sons live in Philippines and he too returned to settle down in his native village recently. The police officials meanwhile said,The thieves scaled the back wall and entered of the house. This happened at about two last night. Two thieves first entered the bed room where Gurjar was sleeping. They hit him with the back of the sword and locked him inside the room. Two thieves stood on Gurjar's guard while the other four ransacked the entire house. The police has filed an FIR against unknown people,and claim they will crack the case soon. Sources close to Gurjar Singh,meanwhile claim that renovation work of his house was underway and that Gurjar had kept cash worth Rs 4 lakh in the house.
