At Kaneach located in Sahnewal block,BJP candidate Karnail Singh defeated his alliance partner Karam Singh in Panchayat Samiti elections. Karnail was denied ticket by alliance partner and even BJP workers had burnt an effigy of Cabinet Minister Sharanjeet Singh Dhillon. The BJP candidates ration depot was raided,and he had alleged that it was done at the behest of the SAD. BJP rural president Bikramjeet Singh Cheema said,We won the seat with 336 votes and now SAD is clear that our candidate was stronger.
