Three persons were injured in a clash between two groups which came for hearing of an abetment to suicide case at the district court complex on Tuesday.
Also, a group ran away with a car of the rival group and allegedly abducted one of the opponents.
Victim Mohammad Siddique said that they came to the court complex for a hearing in abetment to suicide case of his nephew Saddam Hussain who committed suicide in jail on April 24, 2013. Following this, Laddi of Chava Nedi village of Gurdaspur was booked for abetment to suicide.

“As we entered the court complex, Laddi along with his supporters attacked us with sticks and sharp-edged weapons. Even the women and children were not spared by the attackers,” said Siddique. “There were almost 25 people who attacked us. They snatched a car from us and also abducted one of our men. We nabbed one of the accused while the others managed to flee.”
Siddique said that the accused had also assaulted them on January 31 this year near Jalandhar bypass. A case was registered at Salem Tabri police station in this context.
Siddique said Laddi had been threatening them to withdraw the case and it was not for the first time that his supporters attacked them. Laddi along with his accomplices had also kidnapped his four-year-old nephew from their house on January 13. He was later recovered by the police. A case of kidnapping was registered.
The victims nabbed one of the accused and handed him over to division number 5 police. SHO Beant Juneja said that statement of the victims was being recorded and an FIR had been registered.
