(Photo: Screengrab from X/@myogiadityanath)Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, campaigning in Bihar on Wednesday, launched a sharp attack on the Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), and Samajwadi Party (SP), accusing them of appeasement politics and neglecting development.
Addressing rallies in Raghunathpur, Darauli, Shahpur, Buxar, Dumraon, and Brahmapur in support of NDA candidates, Adityanath said, “These people bow at the tombs of Babur and Aurangzeb but have bullets fired at devotees of Lord Ram. They talk about being with everyone, but their development is only for their families and the mafia.”
Calling the RJD-Congress alliance a “factory of crime and a barrier to development,” the chief minister said, “Before 2005, Bihar had fallen into chaos, hooliganism, and mafia rule. But when Bihar chose the NDA under Nitish Kumar, the countdown for mafias began. In 20 years of tireless effort, the Nitish government helped the state recover.”
Highlighting the welfare and infrastructure work under the NDA governments in UP and Bihar, Adityanath said, “We not only ran bulldozers but also handed house keys to the poor. The Rs 6,100-crore Ram–Janaki Marg project will connect Ayodhya with Sitamarhi, strengthening the cultural and spiritual bond between the two states.”
Taking a jibe at the opposition parties over the Ram temple issue, he said, “Congress denied the existence of Lord Ram, RJD opposed the temple, and SP fired bullets at Ram devotees. We said then too: ‘Goli chalao ya danda, Ram Lalla hum layenge, aur mandir wahi banayenge. (Fire bullets or use sticks, we will bring Ram and make temples here).”
Adityanath claimed that RJD president Lalu Prasad had committed a “sin” by arresting BJP patriarch Lal Krishna Advani, who had taken out the Ram Rath Yatra decades ago.
At one of his rallies, the chief minister referred to local RJD candidate Osama Shahab, whose late father Mohammed Shahabuddin was a dreaded gangster-turned-politician and several-term MP.
Referring to one of the infamous cases in which Shahabuddin was named, Adityanath said, “Bihar has been witness to the horrific instance of people being doused with acid, leading to their death. Now the RJD wants to bring back the ‘jungle raj’ by fielding a member of the family which had gained notoriety around the world”.
Adityanath urged voters to support the NDA, saying, “Uttar Pradesh has set out on the path of Ram Rajya; now it’s Bihar’s turn. . UP showed the way, now Bihar must follow.”
