Vikas bowls Dehli to victory in final

Indian women defeated Nepal by 1-0 in the final of the SAFF Championships held at Bangladesh. The all-important goal was scored by S Mallik in the 65th minute of the play. The camp for the championship was held at SAI sub-centre,Lucknow from October 1 to December 8.

In the eighth round on the top table,SK Rathore of Madhya Pradesh defeated Bikaner tourney champion Harish Sharma in 32 moves,Hari Om Sharma of UP defeated champion of the Delhi tournament Rupesh Kant in 29 moves in Catalan opening,Bharat Prakash Gutpa of Rajasthan thrashed another champion Anurag Jaiswal in a 80 moves marathon game,J Malleswara Rao of Andhra Pradesh easily defeated Rahul of Maharashtra. Pawan Batham of UP a snatched full point from champion of the Lonavala event and National ‘B’ Gaurav Bakliwal.
