UP: Women kabaddi players injured in Mirzapur accident, CM Yogi orders free medical care

Mirzapur accident: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered district administration officials to provide all the injured players with free medical treatment.

Mirzapur accident: At least eight local women kabaddi players were injured in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, when the autorickshaw they were travelling by collided with a truck carrying gas cylinders. Additional Superintendent of Police (City) of  Mirzapur Nitesh Singh said the accident occurred around 9 PM on Tuesday under the Kotwali Dehat police station area.

Four of the injured are in a critical state, he said.

“A truck carrying gas cylinders collided with an auto. About eight girls who were on their way to participate in division-level games were injured in the incident. The condition of four is serious, three have been referred to another hospital, while one is undergoing treatment here. The rest of the injured are in stable condition,” Singh said.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered district administration officials to provide all the injured players with free medical treatment, reported news agency. He also wished them a speedy recovery.
