UP man died of heart attack,not beating: Autopsy report

Two days after five Delhi policemen were arrested for allegedly beating a farmer to death in Sambhal,the postmortem report of the deceased has confirmed that he died of heart attack,Uttar Pradesh Police said Sunday.

Sambhal SP Tahsildar Singh said the autopsy report of 47-year-old Kushiram Yadav does not mention the reason of death as severe beating as alleged by the deceased’s son Raju in an FIR at Dhanari police station. It also does not mention any physical injury on Kushiram’s body.

Investigating officer of the case,Inspector Rajdeep Singh Yadav,said,“Doctors who conducted the autopsy did not preserve viscera. Till now none of the jailed policemen have moved bail applications. We will produce the postmortem report in the court when they move court for bail.”

The five policemen — Assistant Sub-Inspector Satish Chand,Head Constable Vijay Singh and constables Praveen Kumar,Sandeep and Satendra — were arrested on the charge of murder and lodged in Badaun jail since August 2.

Yadav said the police will investigate the circumstances leading to Kushiram suffering a heart attack. “We are recording the statement of the witnesses and investigation is under process,” he added.

As per Raju’s complaint five policemen from Delhi reached their house located at Sunwar Sarai village and questioned his father Kushiram about a motorcycle at the house. They claimed that motorcycle was stolen and took Kushiram to an isolated place and beat him up leading to his death,Raju had alleged.

However,Delhi policemen later told their UP counterparts Kushiram had complained of uneasiness while being taken to Delhi. They claimed that they had taken Kushiram out of the vehicle and offered him water,but he died. They also claimed that Kushiram died in the presence of several villagers who had gathered at the spot.

Fearing an attack by the locals,Delhi policemen had went to the Dhanari police station. Angry locals had later gheraoed the Dhanari police station demanding immediate arrest and severe action against the Delhi policemen.

Later,Raju lodged an FIR based on which,five Delhi policemen were arrested and two vehicles used to reach Sambhal seized.

The Sambhal police said said no case was pending against Khushiram and he had purchased the motorcycle a year ago from a local resident.
