UP govt hikes course fee of aided engineering colleges

The Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday hiked fees of various courses in aided engineering colleges in the state from the current academic session.

As per the decision taken by the Cabinet,fees of Rs 40,000 has been fixed for each student per annum for B Tech,B Arch and B Pharma courses as against the earlier fees of Rs 25,000,an official spokesman said. For post graduate courses — including MCA,MBA and M Tech — Rs 25,000 per year would be charged as against previous fees of Rs 17,000. For students taking admission under NRI quota,the maximum fees will be $ 7,000 per year as against the earlier fee structure of $ 5,000. The students will be required to pay an additional Rs 5,000 as caution money which will be refunded after completion of the course.

“The new structure does not include examination and hostel fees,” the spokesman added. While hostel fees would be fixed by the executive council of the colleges,Technical University will decide the examination fee.
