The BJP launched its electoral campaign with Mahasangam rally at Meerut on Saturday,which was attended by party president Nitin Gadkari and his predeccessor Rajnath Singh. At the rally,Gadkari said Uttar Pradesh is gripped in Maya ka Mayajaal,which is hampering the development of the state. He lambasted the BSP chief for constructing memorials and said the government should have instead used the money on setting up cold storages for storing potatoes. That way,tonnes of potatoes would not have got wasted and the poor would have been able to get two meals, said Gadkari. Senior party leader Kalraj Mishra in his speech said UP has become Corruption Pradesh. The party is organising five such rallies in April alone.
