School boy kidnapped in UP

Two motorcycle-borne youths kidnapped the six-year-old son of an engineer while he was on his way to school in Deoband area of Saharanpur on Friday morning.

Two motorcycle-borne youths kidnapped the six-year-old son of an engineer while he was on his way to school in Deoband area of Saharanpur on Friday morning.

SSP,Amit Chandra,said: “Keshav Tyagi,a Class I student of Doon Valley Public School,left his house with four other kids on a rickshaw. A 10-year-old girl student accompanying Keshav told police that they were on way to the school when two youths riding on a motorcycle intercepted the rickshaw and dragged Keshav on to the motorbike.”

He added,“The police came to know about the incident from locals. The kids on the rickshaw told there were two youths on a bike,while eyewitnesses claimed they noticed two bikes followed by a Maruti Zen.”

The Saharanpur Range DIG,Dipesh Juneja,said: “No ransom call has been received so far. His relatives have also not lodged an FIR.” Keshav’s father Sushil Tyagi is a civil engineer with Triveni Sugar Mill at Deoband.

This is the second incident of kidnapping of a school boy in the city.

A leading industrialist’s son was kidnapped on January 26 and his body was recovered from a nullah on February 3. While the police had failed to arrest the main accused,a few of the miscreants had later surrendered before the court.
