In a close contest of the snooker singles event,Satish Thakur emerged victorious on the decisive black ball of the final third frame against Tehzeeb winning by 75-44,59-81 and 56-55 points to set the tone for the evening on the second day of the Annual Pool Palace Prize Money Billiards & Snooker Tournament being held at the Sector G,Aliganj situated snooker parlour,here.
In another match,Rahul pipped Asif at the final post in the third frame to register a hard fought victory on the decisive black ball at 57-60,81-59 and 82-73 points to move up into the next round.
Saif Poly recorded a fine victory over Manoj in three frames by 79-77,55-63 and 71-57 points while promising cueist,Siddharth Mehra of the hosts earned a narrow win over Rishi Khanna in three frames by 59-64,72-16 and 62-50 points.
When Rishi potted the crucial black to take the first frame,none had thought that Siddarth would comeback so strongly but the state juniors no.2 billiards player won comfortably in the end.
UP Billiards & Snooker Association official Malik informs that Indias no. 2 junior billiards player,Malkeet Singh defeated Shafat in straight frames by 83-18 and 68-49 points to move into the last 32 stage.
