AYODHYA IS witnessing massive deployment of human resources amid preparations for the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple on January 22 and the expected influx of visitors in the following month.
Officials said on Wednesday that these arrangements include 500 stationary temporary toilets, 30 mobile toilets, an additional 1,500 safai mitras, 50 mela sarthis (guides), 22 water kiosks, 50 water tanks, two temporary hospitals, 16 primary health camps, 62 ambulances including 12 Advanced Life Support vehicles, over 200 doctors and an “extensive master plan” on rescue and medical services from Ayodhya to Lucknow.
Apart from temporary outsourcing, officials from different departments and districts such as Kanpur, Sultanpur, Lucknow, Basti, Bahraich, Varanasi, among others, are also being deployed in Ayodhya for crowd and traffic management and the convenience of visitors, the officials added.
Sources in the government said that in order to avert any untoward incident and to be prepared for any emergency keeping in mind the large gathering, an extensive plan has been readied and deployment for the same would start from January 15.
“Special focus is on cleanliness. Drains are being covered and nearly 1,500 safai mitras in addition to the existing workers, have been roped in. We have prepared tent cities for guests,”Ayodhya Mayor Girish Tripathi told The Indian Express.
“There will be drinking water kiosks at several spots, water tanks, permanent, temporary and mobile toilets have been set up and the entire area has been divided into 10 sectors for ease of management and deployment of staff is being made accordingly,” Tripathi added.
As per the action plan prepared for management of civic amenities, apart from around 1,000 permanent toilets, additional 500 temporary toilets and 30 mobile toilets are being placed, which would be in place for at least two months after the Pran Pratishtha ceremony.
Apart from deployment of cleaning staff at various places, an additional 1500 safai mitras have been appointed, who would work for the next six months, starting mid-January.
Arrangements have been made for the establishment of 50 drinking water tanks, 22 drinking water kiosks. The Municipal Corporation, in coordination with other departments, will also establish 25 ‘May I help you’ kiosks surrounding the Ram Temple premises and other prominent places in the district, deploying 50 mela sarthis (who would be guides to help visitors during their visits to the temple and surrounding areas).
Also, considering the cold weather conditions, arrangements are being made at around 300 places for gas heaters. Keeping in mind the safety of women visitors and pilgrims, around 150 changing rooms are being developed at the ghats.
Apart from this, apart from different tent cities, which have been established by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra and private agencies, the civic body has developed three tent cities to accommodate 5,000 people and sources inform that this Tuesday, another tent city was approved to accommodate more people.
Apart from such amenities, an extensive health care and management plan has also been prepared by the state government along with deployment of both medical, paramedical as well as Class IV employees for temporary hospitals and health centres being developed across Ayodhya region surrounding the Temple venue.
Officials said that drawing upon the experience of having organised the Kumbh Mela, which sees large gathering of crowds for nearly a month, a “health facilities” plan has been prepared along with deployment of medical and other staff. Over 200 doctors, including specialists, over 140 nursing staff and over 300 class fourth health employees are being deployed for the purpose.
Apart from setting aside beds in the existing medical infrastructure from Ayodhya to Lucknow, two Temporary Hospitals have been developed for the consecration ceremony and coming month i.e. 10 bed Temporary Hospital has been developed at Teerthpuram Tent City (Bagh Bigausi), which has been developed by the trust in collaboration with Health Department.
This facility would have four medical officers, three pharmacists and three Class Four employees per shift.
Another 20-bedded temporary hospital developed at Tulsi Udyan and would have five Medical officers, four pharmacists and four Class IV employees per shift.
A total of 16 primary health camps are being established at different places, some in collaboration with the trust and others individually by the health department.
These health camps would come up at Karsewak Puram, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das residence, at Sugreev Kila near Ram Janma Bhoomi main gate, at Ram Katha Sanghralaya, Ramsewak Puram, Saraswati Vidya Mandir Ranopali, Sangh office at Devkali, Brahmakund Guruduara, Manas Kokil, Hanuman Gari, Kanak Bhawan, Pakka Ghat, Nageshwar Nath Temple, International Bus Station, Ayodhya Dham railway Station, Saket Petrol Pump.
A senior official of the health department informed that apart from this 50 beds reserved at Rajshri Dashrath Medical College, 30 beds at district hospital (male), 20 beds at Sri Ram District Hospital, Ayodhya, 15 beds at Kumarganj hospital and another 50 beds at the district woman hospital have been reserved for emergencies.
As many as 62 ambulances are being deployed for the ceremony, which would include 12 Advanced Life Support vehicles. Out of these one each ALS would be deployed at the airport, helipad, while two at the Ram Janmabhoomi site and another eight would be for VVIP movement. Apart from these, there would be 50 BLS ambulances, which would be Basic Life Support vehicles.
Officials inform that deployment of specialist doctors and medical staff from the state headquarters would include six physicians, six surgeons, six orthopaedic surgeons, four anaesthesists, one cardiologist, two paediatricians, 75 MBBS medical officers, four women medical officers and 70 pharmacists.
Apart from this, two existing blood banks in Ayodhya have been equipped with full capacity – that is 1,600 ready blood bags. “These are some initial deployments, along with these arrangements in Ayodhya, where one control room room is being prepared, emergency control rooms are being established at hospitals in Lucknow including i.e. Trauma Centre, King George Medical University and Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences,” a senior official said.
