INSTEAD OF making fresh promises and releasing a manifesto for the coming urban local body polls, the Uttar Pradesh BJP is reaching out to the voters with a “nagar vikas sankalp patra” in which the party has highlighted the ongoing works in infrastructure development and has claimed that state was becoming “apradh-apradhi mukt” (free from crime and criminals) in the present government.

The party had earlier planned to release a manifesto earlier this month but the programme was postponed. “No manifesto is likely to be released… Only a few days are left for the first phase of polling. Instead, the party has summarised the achievements in a two-page nagar vikas sankalp patra to tell the people what the Yogi Adityanath govrnment was doing for development of urban local bodies in the state,” said a BJP leader.
