Mulayam’s nephew loses panchayat poll

Aditya Yadav, who is the son of Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Shivpal Singh Yadav, lost the election of the district panchayat in Etawah district.

Fielded from the family seat,Aditya Yadav lost by 1,400 votes

Aditya Yadav, who is the son of Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Shivpal Singh Yadav, lost the election of the district panchayat in Etawah district.

Aditya was fielded from Jaswant Nagar area that Shivpal,Mulayam’s younger brother, represents in the Assembly. He was defeated by Dushyant Yadav alias Bishun by a margin of about 1,400 votes. Aditya’s defeat has its own political significance in view of the weakening grip of former CM Mulayam Singh Yadav and his family members over his native district Etawah. “Voters were unhappy with Shivpal Singh because of his decision to field his son,” a source in Etawah told The Sunday Express over the phone.

As per a report,Sadhna Singh, the wife of state’s Forest Minister Fateh Bahadur Singh,is among the winners for the district panchayat in Gorakhpur district. Another UP minister Ramhet Bharti’s wife Usha Bharti has maintained a good lead in zila panchayat polls in Sitapur district.

Surendra Singh and Shila Singh — relatives of Minister Sangram Singh Yadav — have won the election of zila panchayat in Barabanki district.

BSP’s Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Agrawal’s relatives Mukesh Agrawal and Kamini Agrawal were leading in zila panchayat polls in Hardoi district.
