For the second consecutive day,Chief Minister Mayawati continued her meeting with party legislators and collected their feedback about the governments functioning at the ground level. She also held a meeting with senior officials of her government and reviewed the progress of various development projects.
According to sources,Mayawati on Saturday met the legislators of different districts including Varanasi,Mirzapur,Meerut,Aligarh,Agra and Rampur. She met the MLAs district-wise. It helped her collect correct feedback about the functioning of her government, said one of the legislators.
According to the legislator,her common question to all the MLAs was regarding the functioning of the concerned district administration. Zila kaise chal raha hai?, another BSP legislator quoted the CM.
The CM,meanwhile,congratulated them for the partys good performance in the bypolls. Sources said the CM was concerned on reports of shortage of fertilisers in different parts of the state.
She directed the officials to ensure availability of fertilisers and seeds for farmers across the state. Her other priority was the progress made in projects like Ganga Expressway and Kushinagar Airport.
According to a government press release,Mayawati directed the officers concerned to undertake special measures to stop the intervention of criminals in businesses of government contracts and thus asked them to strictly implement the system of e-tender in different departments.
Her focus was also on the full utility of the Backward Region Grant Fund in the state as well as NREGS.
She also directed the officers concerned to verify old age and widow pension schemes at every level to eradicate corruption.
