Man thrown into factory boiler dies

Badaun: A thirty-year-old man was killed on Monday after being pushed into a factory boiler allegedly by four persons following a verbal duel in Ujhani area. Anokhe Lal of Vitrohi village had come to Siya Ram’s factory with his ‘mentha’,an aromatic herb plant used for extracting oil,on his tractor,police said. He got into a verbal duel with four others,who were also waiting for their turn to extract the oil,SSP Manjil Saini said. Ram Singh,Virendra,Ajay Pal and one other threw him into the boiler causing his death,the SSP said adding a case has been registered against the four.

Ex-village head shot dead

Greater Noida: A former village head was shot dead by two unidentified bikers on Monday,police said. The incident took place at Junpat village when two men on a motorcycle shot dead Bijender Bhatti while he was on a morning walk,they said,adding that he died on the spot. The reason behind the crime is not yet known.

Docs protest illegal ultrasound centres

Ghaziabad: An association of private doctors held a demonstration on Monday outside the District Magistrate’s office,alleging connivance of state health officials in the running of illegal ultrasound clinics in the district.
