A Lieutenant Colonel was caught cheating in the third semester MSc examinations of the Lucknow University by the proctorial board Saturday,officials said
Lt Col Hamid Usmani was caught during a routine check by the proctorial board when the examination was on in the Zoology department of the university.
The person,who was appearing for the third semester examinations of MSc (Mass Comm in Science and Technology) had written answers on both sides of the writing pad in pencil. As the squad,which confiscated the evidence,was on its way,he snatched the pad,erased the matter and threw it on the roof of the nearby building, a university official said.
University spokesperson Prof N K Pandey confirmed that a Lt Col had been caught by the proctorial board.
A candidate can be barred from appearing in an exam if found guilty of destroying evidence, said a member of the proctorial board.
