With the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya (on January 22) drawing closer, top leadership of the state BJP led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and party chief Bhupendra Chaudhary on Thursday huddled here and chalked out multi-layered strategies to “win all 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh”.
At the meeting — also attended by BJP national general secretary Vinod Tawde, Deputy CMs Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak and state general secretary (organisation) Dharampal Singh, among others — a plan was chalked out to divide all 80 Lok Sabha seats in the state into 20 clusters with each cluster having a dedicated action plan.
Sources said it was decided to conduct a ‘Gaon Chalo Abhiyan’ to establish dialogue with the people living in villages. Under the plan, party workers would visit villages, stay there one night and hold “chaupals”.
It was also decided to hold a ‘Beneficiaries Smapark Abhiyan’, where party workers would reach out to beneficiaries of different welfare schemes of the central government and inform them about “historical steps” taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government, they said.
During the meeting, Dharampal Singh presented an organisational action plan.
Besides these, a programme to connect with first-time voters would begin from January 24 under which party leaders would reach out to such voters and communicate with them, sources said, adding that at least two first-time voters’ conventions will be organised in each Assembly constituency and efforts will also be made to reach out to the youth in colleges and hostels.
Under the ‘Booth Sashaktikaran Abhiyan’, the party will build “fortresses” through strong organisational structure at all booths in the state, they said.
Adityanath said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the resolve to build a self-reliant India is being fulfilled with services, good governance and the welfare of the poor. “UP, which was once known for riots, has today become the land free of fear and riots and a happy and festive state under the double-engine government,” he said.
The BJP chief said, “The country is going to elect the BJP for the third time under the leadership of Prime Minister or which the state unit will give its 100% contribution.”
