Any Lucknowites who witnessed the Fashion-ado organised by Asma Husain and HSBC on Monday night would vouch for it.

Attended by city’s glitterati,the Red Carpet at the MB Club saw models displaying the line of collection that could be only dubbed as innovative.

Representing the explicit use of Lucknow’s Chikan and Zardozi work,as many as 5 different lines of collection were presented amidst soothing music selected keeping in mind the line of work.

While Lady Victoria talked of Chikankari developed on Victorian motifs of the 19th century,Anastasia had brilliant use of Chikan work developed in bright Russian colours & motifs.

Continuing in the line,Begamaat,the traditional Tukri work (patchwork) of Awadh personified grace of Lucknow,Audrey was all designed for women in power.

The Anarkali range again had Chikan embroidered dresses with shimmer and shine in delicate Mughal style.

Asma who has celebrity clients like Farouqe Sheikh,Kirron Kher,Shabana Azmi,etc. in her kitty,was among 24 new designers selected for a debut at Lifestyle Fashion Week this year.

“You get to know your real worth only at such platforms,” says Asma reminiscing her experience at the India’s leading fashion event.

Claiming her work appealed to enthusiasts from across the globe,Asma is busy designing new range of collection these days.

“I further plan to innovate but only with Chikan,Zardozi,Muqaish in the background,” says the fashion designer who has done shows in Dubai,Manchester,New York & Washington.
