Speaker Satish Mahana released the book, Thursday. PTIThe 18th Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly has several members having education qualifications less than Class VIII and as higher as PhDs, reveals a book on detailed profiles of the MLAs released by Speaker Satish Mahana on Thursday.

The book reveals that in the current Assembly, 12 members have educational qualifications less than Class VIII, 28 are Class X pass out, and 46 have cleared Class XII. Besides, 91 MLAs in the 403-member Assembly are graduates, 61 are postgraduate, 31 have LLB degrees, and 38 are masters in law (LLM). Not just this, 21 members have either medical or engineering degrees, 13 hold PhDs and three have diplomas. Moreover, 59 members have more than one educational qualification.
In a state where agriculture still dominates the economy, it’s not surprising to know that 160 out of the 403 members have listed agriculture as profession.
