Revati murder case: I-T moves court to take over stolen cash
Muzaffaranagar: In a new development in the Revati Singh murder case wife of Hukkum Singh,BJP leader in the state Assembly the Income-Tax department has moved a local court seeking direction to allow it to take possession of the stolen cash recovered from the accused.
Yashvendra Singh,I-T Assistant Director,had told the court that the Rs 52,80,000 recovered from the accused was unaccounted for and should be handed over to the department. On Tuesday,Chief Judicial Magistrate Satish Chand Arya fixed August 20 as the date to hear the request. The body of Revati Singh (75) was found in the bedroom of her Gandhi Colony residence on July 31.
Lucknow: The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM),the youth wing of the BJP,has demanded higher honorarium for Shiksha Mitras saying that it is one of the biggest employment generating schemes for the youths. Addressing mediapersons in the state capital on Tuesday,the organisations newly appointed state president Harish Dubey said the state government should also probe the appointment of BTC teachers,as high level of corruption prevails in the process. Dubey said BJYM will try to raise youth issues and create awareness about employment generation programmes. We also demand revival of students unions. The unions are one of the strongest organisations for handling students issues,but the state government has put a ban on them, said Dubey.
Criminal gunned down
Lucknow: The police on Tuesday gunned down a criminal,who along with eight others,had escaped from the Meerut district jail on July 20. A pistol and a Pulsar motorcycle were recovered from Shakeels possession. Sub-inspector Pawan Kumar Sharma and constables Manoj and Santosh were injured when Shakeel opened fire on the police party when he was asked to surrender.
