Another 36 IPS officers transferred
LUCKNOW: In a yet another reshuffle within 24 hours,the state government transferred 36 senior IPS officers,including police chiefs of 12 districts,on Saturday.
The IPS officers transferred on Saturday included an Inspector General (IG) rank official and 16 Deputy Inspector Generals. The districts from where the police chiefs were shifted included Agra,Kanpur Dehat,Gorakhpur,Unnao,Pratapgarh,Chandauli,Ravidas Nagar,Kanshiram Nagar,Chitrakoot,Gonda,Barabanki and Banda.

LUCKNOW: The Chief Judicial Magistrate of Lucknow on Saturday summoned Congress leader Rajvir Singh to appear before the court on February 26 with regards to the Rita Bahuguna Joshi arson case.

LDA to organise drawing competition
LUCKNOW: The Lucknow Development Authority is organising a drawing competition for the students of Class VI to X on Sunday,seeking their suggestions on better development of Lucknow.
The competition will be organised at Ram Manohar Lohia Park in Gomti Nagar area at 10 am. Winners will be given a cash prize of Rs 5,000 and a certificate. LDA Vice-Chairman Mukesh Kumar Meshram said students would have to paint their imaginations about their city.

President to visit IIT-K on March 5
Kanpur: President Pratibha Patil will visit IIT-Kanpur on March 5 to participate in the golden jubilee celebrations of the institute. The visit was earlier scheduled for February 22 but was postponed due to her engagements. To preserve the 50 glorious years of its history in time,IIT-Kanpur has decided to build a time capsule which the President will inaugurate. The three-foot-long time capsule will store the details of all the research activities,academic tie-ups and other achievements of the institute. The capsule would be made of a special kind of copper.
