Impressive win for UP

The Uttar Pradesh team— UPCA XI registered a comprehensive 193 run victory against Punjab in their Under-22 CK Nayudu Elite ‘A’ match at Kanpur on Saturday. With this victory UP added 5 more points in his kitty to dominate in its group.

Starting at an overnight total of 347 for nine,UP’s first innings folded at a total of 350 runs very soon after the start of the day’s play. The last wicket fell in the form of Bhuvneshwar Kumar (51). His wicket was taken by talented Punjab spinner Rajwinder Singh who had taken six wickets on the penultimate day.

UP bowlers did a fine job which led to the collapse of the Punjab team in their second innings. Punjab was all out at a paltry total of just 111 runs in 32.1 overs.

On behalf of UP,Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled exceedingly well and claimed five wickets giving away 36 runs in his 11 over spell which featured 2 maiden overs as well. Rizwan Ahmed took three wickets while Bharat Awasthi took two wickets.
