A day after the UP government started disciplinary proceedings against seven Secretariat staff members for refusing to work under Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Azam Khan and attached them to central pool,it could till late evening identify only two staff members who are right and ready to work under the minister.
Secretariat employees had refused to work under the minister given his abusive behaviour and threatened to go on strike.
However, after discussions with senior government officers, the Uttar Pradesh Secretariat Staff Association decided not to prevent any employee from working under the minister. Since the government has not taken any punitive action against the employees,we have left the decision to join Azams office on individual employees, said association president Yadvendra Mishra.
There is already a staff crunch of experienced staff members but efforts are on to find the right staff, said a senior government officer.
Till late evening, the government was able to identify only two staff,a Private Secretary and one additional secretary, for Azams office.
In the evening, the government also served chargesheet on the seven staff members. The staff include two private secretaries V B Singh and Jeevan Singh Negi; additional private secretaries Naeem Siddiqui,Avdhesh Kumar Tiwari,Santosh Kumar Prajapati,Mukti Nath Jha and Sarvesh Kumar Mishra.
The chargesheet accuses the seven employees of leaving the ministers office in an unauthorised manner October 30 and also leaving important government documents and other government material in an unsafe manner in the office without any security.
These seven employees did not carry out their duty and responsibilities and violated provisions of the Uttar Pradesh Secretariat rule book as well as UP Government employees conduct rules, said Secretary,Secretariat Administration,A N Mishra in a statement on Thursday evening.
