“I hit my iron shots better than round one. However,my putting on day two was not as good as round one. I missed a number of short putts today. It’s going to be really tough in round three as the experienced Vijay Kumar is just one stroke behind and he too has the local knowledge about this course. I’ll have to take it shot by shot in the final round and not get too far ahead of myself,” said Rawat.

Local favourite Vijay Kumar (70-67) and Mumbai’s Anil Bajrang Mane (70-67) are currently tied for second. Vijay fired an eagle,two birdies and a bogey in the second round to stay in touch with the leader.

Anil Bajrang Mane’s round featured an eagle,three birdies and two bogeys.

Mane chipped-in for eagle from 27 yards on the 16th. He also chipped-in from the edge for birdie on the second.

Pawan Kumar of Delhi is placed fourth at two under 138 while Manoj Kumar,Shiva Ram Shrestha,DS Kullar,Balwinder Singh Mattu and Md Sanju are in tied fifth at one over 141.

The closing function will be held at 2.00 pm on Thursday after the final round.
