17-year-old girl gang-raped in UP’s Saharanpur, 5 arrested
According to the FIR, the Class 11 student was returning home from school when two men she knew offered to drop her at her house and took her to a desolate place.

A 17-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by five men in Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur district around Monday noon, said the police.
The police said they arrested all the five accused, aged between 20 and 25. They added that the victim’s medical examination has been conducted, and its result is awaited.
As per the First Information Report (FIR) lodged at the area police station by her father, the Class 11 student was returning home from school when two men she knew offered to drop her at her house.
“Since my daughter had an acquaintance with them, she readily agreed to accompany the two men, but they took her to a desolate place where they were joined by three others who took turns on her. The accused later dropped her off at the main crossing where she was spotted by locals who took her to the area police station,” stated the father in the FIR.
The accused have been booked under the Indian Penal Code Section 376(D) (gang rape) and provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act, said a senior police officer.
