A 70-year-old former head of a gurdwara was found shot dead in Nizambad area of Azamgarh district on Saturday morning. A .315 bore country-made pistol was recovered from the spot. The SO of Nizambad police station,RP Singh, said Sardar Bhagat Singh was living under acute depression and shot himself dead. The Agra-based chief head of the gurudwara had removed him from the post of ‘Mukhya Granthi’ two months ago. The SO said Bhagat Singh was associated with the Nizambad gurdwara for last 40 years, but the chief head at Agra had sent two of his representatives Satnam Singh and Trilok Singh in January this year as the supervising authorities for the gurdwara. Satnam Singh was asked to take charge of fund management two months ago and the decision had led to a fracas between Satnam and Bhagat Singh.
