Fair Speak

Besides an acceptance from the Governor to inaugurate the National Book Fair in Lucknow beginning from September 11,there is little support from the state government to promote the cause,lament the organisers.

“Every state offers us even financial support when we hold the book fair,but no such relief from the government of Uttar Pradesh,” said Devraj Arora,president of the Knowledge Tree Foundation that holds the fair,in association with the Federation of Publishers and Booksellers Associations in India.

“We don’t target sales; we want to promote the good habit of reading books,” said Arora,talking to the Press on Saturday.
