Ex-MLAs nephew held for domestic helps murder

Eighteen-year-old nephew of former BSP MLA from Chandauli Sharda Prasad was today arrested by Varanasi police in connection with the death of Prasads 30-year-old domestic help,Anil Yadav,on Sunday night.

Eighteen-year-old nephew of former BSP MLA from Chandauli Sharda Prasad was today arrested by Varanasi police in connection with the death of Prasads 30-year-old domestic help,Anil Yadav,on Sunday night. Anil had sustained gunshot injury in his chest.

The police booked the accused,Amit,on the basis of a complaint lodged by Anils father Matru Yadav. SSP (Varanasi) Ajay Kumar Mishra said: We are awaiting the postmortem report. The accused and his family members claim that it was an accidental fire. We have reasons to suspect that they are not revealing the entire truth.

Mishra added that prima facie spot investigation indicated that more than one gunshot was fired. However,it was claimed by the accused that the gun went off accidentally.
