To prepare the action plan for its cadres and start work at war-footing for the upcoming Assembly election in Uttar Pradesh, the AICC has called a series of organisational meetings in Delhi on Thursday. These day-long meetings would be chaired by AICC general secretary Digvijaya Singh. Though, the presence of AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi has not been confirmed, sources said that he can be part of the meetings in the evening,as he is scheduled to be in his parliamentary constituency Amethi for the entire day. Right from presidents of the frontal units like Mahila Congress,NSUI,Youth Congress and Sewa Dal; incharges of different cells and departments; heads of the recently-formed committees like campaign committee, manifesto committee, media committee, incharges of different flagship programs monitoring committees and also recently-formed zonal co-ordinators,all have been called to Delhi for different rounds of meetings. Everyone is working in their own way at present. The stakes of the party are different this time in Uttar Pradesh and unlike in the past,we have announced party tickets early this time. Thus, the organisation would have to work in utmost coordination. Moreover, there are some obvious resentments within the party following announcement of about 135 candidates, said a senior party leader, who will be part of one of the meetings tomorrow. He added: The only aim of these meetings is to develop a coordination between various units of the organisation and make them work towards one goal. We expect that some instructions from the party high-command will be conveyed to us during the meetings. Sources said that in all 50 party leaders would take part in the meetings to be held in phases during the day depending upon the responsibilities allotted to them. All these meetings would be attended by AICC secretaries incharge Parvez Hashmi and Avinash Pandey,Congress state president Rita Bahuguna Joshi and Congress Legislature Party leader Pramod Tiwari.
