A Committee headed by the Additional Chief Secretary, Additional Sources of Energy Department, Mahesh Gupta gave clearance to establishment of 7 bio-fuel projects to be across the state by private and public sector investors. Officials informed that there were 16 projects that were taken up for discussion, of which seven projects got the go-ahead. These projects are worth Rs 325 crore and are in the bio-energy sector. While four projects are that of Compressed Bio- Gas with the capacity to produce 51.2 tonne gas per day. Others include one project of Bio-Coal with the production capacity of 40 tonne per day and two projects of Bio-Diesel with the production capacity of 204 Kilolitre a day. Four CBG projects would come up at at Meerut by Sircle CBG India Pvt Ltd, two at Muzaffarnagar by Green House Bio Energy Ltd and Girver and Sons Bio-Energy Pvt Ltd. One would come up in Gorakhpur worth Rs 164 crore alone would be established by Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.
