Canadian national ‘molested’ in train

The Canadian woman,along with her friend Adam,were touring India. They were on their way to Delhi from Guwahati,when Tomar tried to molest her as the train approached Kanpur Central railway station.

“We were in an AC coach,Tomar was also present there. When I was on way to the wash room,Tomar was waiting nearby. He misbehaved with me and tried to drag me inside the toilet. I pushed him aside and shouted for help. Adam and other passengers came to my rescue,” said the tourist.

Adam said that Tomar appeared to be in an inebriated condition. “A few days ago,a bag containing our passport,some cash and documents was stolen. We were on our way to Delhi to meet officials at the Canadian Embassy,” he said.

Tomar,however,denied the allegation. “I did not misbehave with her and don’t know why she has dragged me into the controversy,” he said.

Circle Officer of GRP,Ikhlakh Ahmed,said both the Canadians left for New Delhi by the same train after registering their complaint.
