Woman suffers burns as dough catches fire
A woman suffered burns after the flour she was kneading for rotis caught fire in Ramgarh area of Ferozabad district on Wednesday. The police found a pack of 20-kg flour,purchased by the family two days ago,mixed with suspicious granules. A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory,Agra,too visited the spot and examined the particles,but failed to identify the material. Ferozabad SP Raghubir Lal said the particles found in the pack are being sent for test to laboratories in Agra and Lucknow. The flour is manufactured and sold by a mill in Shahjahanpur. The ADG (Law and Order) Brij Lal ordered the Shahjahanpur SP to conduct search at the flour mill. The police,however,did not find any such particles at the mill.

Suspected ISI man’s associate arrested
The state ATS arrested an associate of alleged ISI spy Mohammad Nasir from Islampur area of Gurgaon on Wednesday. The accused,Mukeem is from Meerut. The ADG (Law & Order),Brij Lal,said Mukeem had visited the ISI camp in Lahore along with his cousin Nasir in 2009 and was passing on information about Army establishment in Delhi to the ISI.

Body of 24-yr-old youth found
The Lucknow police recovered the body of a 24-year-old youth,Manish Kumar Sharma,from the thickets in Mohanlalganj area. The victim had sustained injuries in the stomach by sharp-edged weapon. The body has been sent for post mortem. A native of Thakurganj area,Manish was a carpenter.

16 cops promoted out of turn
State DGP Karamvir Singh awarded out-of-turn promotions to 16 policemen on Wednesday. They included six sub-inspectors,two head constables and constables.
