S-I surrenders in fake encounter case
LUCKNOW: Sub-Inspector Pankaj Kumar Shahi,an accused in an alleged fake encounter case in which an Indian was killed in Nepal on March 5,surrendered before the Siddharth Nagar Chief Judicial Magistrate on Wednesday. Shahi had been missing since an FIR was lodged against him at Siddharth Nagar police station on March 8. The court sent him to judicial remand for 14 days. It also permitted us to record his statement in jail, said Sub-Inspector Shiv Nand Yadav,who is investigating the case.
Charges framed against 3 Chinese
LUCKNOW: Charges have been framed against the three Chinese,who were arrested earlier for illegally entering into India and taking photographs of prohibited areas. The charges were framed under Foreigners Act and Passport Act at the court of Bahriach Chief Judicial Magistrate on Wednesday. The court has fixed April 20 for next date of hearing. The report of the examination of the camera and two cellphones that were recovered from the trios possession is still awaited,said Sub-Inspector Subhash Yadav,the Investigating Officer of the case. A resident of Nan Cheng district in Guangdong province of China,Yang Liu along with two Chinese men Xue Dongli and Che Nrong were arrested by the SSB at Rupiyadeeh near the Indo-Nepal border on January 17.
Postpone verdict: Engg murder accused
LUCKNOW: The three accused in the murder of PWD engineer Manoj Kumar Gupta have filed separate petitions in High Court,seeking postponement of the judgment which the trial court had scheduled for April 15. The petitions were filed Manoj Awasthi,Yogendra Dhore alias Bhati and Santosh Tiwari and Ram Babu alias Pooti. The court clubbed all the three petitions. In reply,we filed an affidavit before the court. Today,after arguments,the court reserved the order for April 15, said Abhishek Ranjan,assistant to special public prosecutor IB Singh.
