THE BJP will win the bypolls to 10 Assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh, party state chief Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary said Sunday, a day after the NDA’s poor performance in bypolls in seven states.

Chaudhary was speaking in Lucknow as the BJP state working committee met for the first time after Lok Sabha results. The party leadership including its national president, JP Nadda and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, asked party workers in Uttar Pradesh not to “go on the backfoot” and “not to lose confidence”. Claiming that the next fight is between “Parivarwadi parties and Modi’s parivar” the leadership asked workers to be become active on social media as well as on the ground to expose the “lies of the opposition.”

The BJP leadership also warned the Samajwadi Party (SP) and its chief Akhilesh Yadav to be wary of the Congress, alleging that the latter is a “parasite” that consumes regional parties.

“BJP ke karyakarta ko kisi bhi sthiti mein backfoot pe aane ki avashyakta nahi hai,” CM Adityanath told party workers and leaders, urging them to prepare for achieving victory on all the 10 Assembly seats where bypolls will be held soon. Nadda told the gathering to keep in mind that they are representatives of 140 crore people.

Resolution seeks Rahul’s apology

Lucknow: The UP BJP working committee Sunday passed a resolution seeking an apology from Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, for his “Hindus” remark during the recent Parliament session. It called Gandhi’s remark “a disrespect to Hindus of the entire Hindustan”. —ENS
