In his complaint to the police, a local resident, Abdul Qadri, claimed that videos surfaced on social media on Monday in which two of the booked persons can be seen purportedly beating up the boy.
Three persons have been booked for allegedly assaulting a 15-year-old boy in Aligarh and forcing him to urinate on a Pakistan flag, police said on Wednesday. According to the police, an FIR was registered at the police station concerned on Tuesday late evening under sections 191(2) (rioting), 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 352 (provoke breach of peace), 351(2) (criminal intimidation) and 353(2)(circulating false information) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita against a bookshop owner, another man who runs a grocery store owner and one unidentified person. The incident took place when the boy was returning home from school on Monday, the police said earlier. In videos of the purported incident, the boy can be seen surrounded by a group of men asking him to raise slogans. The protesters are also seen purportedly pushing him and using abusive language. In another video, the boy can be seen putting the flag back on the road and then urinating on it.
In his complaint to the police, a local resident claimed that a video surfaced on social media on Monday in which two of the booked persons can be seen purportedly beating up the boy. “This has hurt the sentiments of a community,” Qadri claimed.

According to the police, while the boy was on his way home from school with some friends, he picked up the flag that was kept on the road.
“The group of protesters asked him to put the flag back. They then asked him what he can do in solidarity with the protest and allegedly told him to urinate on the flag,” the complainant alleged.
