Another tiger expert, this time from Wildlife Institute,Dehradun, arrived in Lucknow on Sunday to assist the Forest department in tracking the strayed tiger known to be lurking in the jungles of Rehmankheda,Lucknow for the past two weeks.
Three experts of Wildlife Trust of India are already camping in the forest along with Forest officials for the last one week. Meanwhile, the tiger, believed to have strayed from the Southern Kheri forest more than 10 days ago,is still evading capture.
The Forest department has placed three cages and is bringing in a fourth cage to trap the beast. The area which the beast is frequenting is also kept under the watch of a camera. While live baits in form of goats are tied to the cage, the tiger has yet not attacked them. Not used to killing domestic animals, the tiger is still trying to kill a wild animal for food, said Ashok Mishra,District Forest Officer,Lucknow.
