Agra teacher ‘gave student phone, sent her obscene photos, videos’; arrested

The accused teacher would threaten the girl when she objected to his behaviour, it is alleged

A teacher was arrested in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra district after a student’s parents complained that he had been harassing the girl by sending her obscene photos on her phone, police said.

The teacher himself had given her the mobile phone, it was alleged.

Based on the complaint lodged by the girl’s family, the police registered a case against the teacher who has been sent to jail.

Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) Sadar Imran Ahmed said the girl’s father complained that the teacher had been harassing the student for a long time by sending obscene and explicit videos and photos to the minor.

The complainant also told police that the teacher would threaten his daughter when she objected to his behaviour.

The teacher’s chats were also found on the mobile phone which has been recovered from the student, police said.

The case was registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, they said.
