Sarkar said,“The Chief Minister said that Presidency was her dream project and she wouldn’t let anything come in the way of achieving that goal.”

On Thursday ,Education Minister Bratya Basu had met the V-C and assured compensation to repair the laboratory, which was renovated only a month ago.

Sarkar said after the Wednesday violence in which students and teachers were also beaten up,many are afraid to attend the classes. “So this assurance from the chief minister has given enough courage to them,” she added.

The CM assured to deploy additional police on the campus to avoid such untoward incidents. Mamata’s assurance to V-C comes as some of her senior ministers had publicly slammed Sarkar for speaking to media about the attack.
