BJP leader sings NaMo NaMo at IIT-GN meet

Speaking on 'Bureaucracy and Politics in India',the leader turned talk into propaganda for Modi as PM candidate.

“We don’t care about USA granting visa to Modi. You guys will need him more than he needs you,” said BJP national executive member,K J Alphons Kannanthanam,to a question by students of the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) at the Indian Institute of Technology,Gandhinagar (IIT-GN) Thursday.

Speaking on “Bureaucracy and Politics in India” Alphons,a speaker at IIT-GN’s 9-day academic module called ‘India Ki Khoj’,turned the talk into propaganda for Narendra Modi as India’s PM candidate.

“The death toll in the Sikh riots was 5000 unofficially but Rajiv Gandhi was issued a US visa several times. What is their problem with Modi? He is an urban phenomena and has governed Gujarat since 2002 without a blemish,” he told the students.

The former bureaucrat started by recounting tales from his career as an IAS officer to his stint as an independent Kerela MLA,but Modi ruled the second half of his lecture on ‘Indian politics’.

“I see Modi magic happening in 2014. I want somebody in India who can put food on the table, take every child to school and create jobs for everybody. That somebody is him (Modi),” he said responding to a query from a Caltech student on the strength of the current BJP.

Answering a question by a Caltech faculty on whether the US will change its stand on Modi,Alphons recalled his meeting with United States President Barack Obama in March this year where he asked the Congress Senators to change their stand on Modi and invite him for a dialogue.
