West Bengal: Two Bangladeshis held with seven Indian passports

Acting on a tip-off, the officials apprehended the two Bangladeshi nationals after they had unloaded the goods and received the seven passports with visa for Saudi Arabia.

The BSF officials Tuesday arrested two Bangladeshi nationals who were involved with the transportation of goods and Indian passports at the Integrated Check Post (ICP) Petrapole along the border.

Acting on a tip-off, the officials apprehended the two Bangladeshi nationals — truck driver Saquat Gaji (40) and his helper Abul Kalam, both of Jessore district in the neighbouring country — after they had unloaded the goods and received the seven passports with visa for Saudi Arabia.

According to the BSF, these passports were to be handed over to people in Bangladesh.

A BSF official said that the passports have been seized and handed over to the Bongaon police station while the truck was in the process of being handed over to Border Guards Bangladesh.
