BJP CM targets Mamata: Learn how to run corruption-free govt from Tripura
“Your regime had only been marked by clashes, bombing and murders. There has to be an end to this which will happen. After Tripura, Bengal will be the next state in the region where this will happen,” Saha said.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Saturday said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will come to power in West Bengal next. He also criticised the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) over the violence that erupted during the 2021 Assembly elections in West Bengal and claimed that one can learn about running a “corruption-free” government from his state.
Saha was speaking during a programme organised by the BJP at the Bhasha Bhawan in National Library of Kolkata in the state capital where he was felicitated by the party’s state unit. The party’s state president Sukanta Majumdar also attended the event.
“Didi the word democracy sounds out of place when you utter it. Everyone knows what is the situation in Bengal. How thousands of BJP karyakartas were attacked, beaten up, their houses looted, and made to flee from homes and how many were murdered and raped after the assembly elections here (in 2021).
“Your regime had only been marked by clashes, bombing and murders. There has to be an end to this which will happen. After Tripura, Bengal will be the next state in the region where this will happen,” Saha said.
Citing the example of his state, he said, “How to run a corruption-free government should be learned from Tripura.”
Hitting out at the state government over the violence that broke out in the state during the 2021 polls, Saha said, “Not a single vote was forced in Tripura. We don’t believe in forceful elections.”
Talking about the ongoing agitation by West Bengal government employees over a hike in dearness allowance (DA), the Tripura CM said. “The double engine government at the Centre and Tripura is giving 20% DA.”
The Joint Forum of Government Employees is leading the ongoing protest in the state capital for a hike in DA .
He also urged the public to overthrow the TMC government in Bengal. “The way we got rid of the Left Front, we have to get rid of Trinamool in Bengal,” he added.
Meanwhile, TMC state general secretary Kunal Ghosh said, “If you have a small dream, you can fulfill it. But if you have such a dream, it will never be fulfilled. Before you welcome the BJP Chief Minister, we will welcome the TMC Chief Minister of Tripura.”
