Toll in firecracker godown explosion reaches two

One more person injured in the Saturday's explosion at a firecracker godown in Shyambazar died on Sunday taking the total toll to two.

One more person injured in the Saturday’s explosion at a firecracker godown in Shyambazar died on Sunday taking the total toll to two. Gautam Ghosh (50),the owner of the shop,had received 100 per cent bur injuries and was admitted to R G Kar Medical College and Hospital.

Meanwhile,a team of forensic experts collected samples from the site of the explosion.

It was a loud explosion in a confined place. We have collected remnants and we have to find out the cause of the explosion, said D Sengupta,the director of the state forensic lab.

On Saturday,one person had died and five others were injured in the explosion.

We have to check whether banned firecrackers were manufactured at the site, said Benoy K Dutta,chairman of the West Bengal Pollution Control Board.
