A Left Front delegation met state election commissioner Mira Pandey on Friday and complained about “ruling Trinamool Congress workers preventing Left candidates from filing nominations.” Senior CPM leader Rabin Deb alleged that the Trinamool workers have encircled several government block offices and preventing any rival candidates to reach the office to file their nomination papers. “Trinamool has mobilised party workers within the 100-metre radius of the block office. They attacked candidates of the opposition parties as they go to file their nomination papers,” said Deb and added that CPM candidates failed to file their nomination in Arambag and its adjoining blocks of Hooghly district and at several places in Bankura. CPM MLA from Bhangor Abdul Rezzak Mollah also met Pandey and said opposition candidates were being prevented from filing of nomination in his constituency in South 24-Parganas.
