In their appeal, the Left Front stated: “The TMC and BJP are not alternatives to each other. Here, the TMC is working as a substitute of the BJP…Because of their corruption, the TMC has an understanding with the BJP.”

Left Front Chairman Biman Bose said, “The BJP is going to ruin democracy and the Constitution of India. Unprecedentedly, they suspended 146 MPs in Parliament to pass anti-people bills. The BJP is a ‘manuvadi’ political party. During BJP’s rule, attacks on Dalits and Adivasis have increased. The BJP has used its power to accumulate money through electoral bonds and the TMC also used the same way. We are appealing to the people of West Bengal to defeat both BJP and TMC.”
